Timber Creek Keeps Ahead of Triton

For one half of this game, the Triton Mustangs boy's basketball team kept the memory of the last time they played the Chargers from Timber Creek. In that game, the Chargers were in full control of their twenty point win on their home court. This time, Triton only trailed their opponent by three points at intermission. It would be the play of Maurice Ward who highlighted a seventeen point their quarter that gave Timber Creek a lead they would hold on to. The Chargers would defeat Triton at home by a 50-42 margin.
Both teams tried played evenly for the first quarter tied at ten points a piece. Gradually the Chargers began to pull away and led at halftime by a slim 18-15 advantage. A mini run allowed Timber Creek to widen their lead in the third quarter enough to hold on for the win. Maurice Ward finished the game with a game high 15 points and Jourdain Blackmon added 12 points for Timber Creek. Triton was led by Bill Greeman who scored 13 points, Mike Vernamonti added 12 and Ryan Purdy finished with 10 points.
