With the season winding down and the Lady Chiefs already securing a playoff position, their next mission if they would accept it would be to capture the Olympic Conference American Division title. In an interdivision competition against Triton, Cherokee would finally enjoy a comfortable lead giving starting pitcher Allison Twarowski plenty of support early on. That comfort level was enough for the entire Cherokee team to be rewarded with the 9-0 shutout victory.
Cherokee has been winning those close games that have are needed to prove to themselves that they can win the big games. One run recent victories over Washington Township, Lenape, Audubon and Millville have proven that the pitching staff can hold on to a slim lead. So when the Lady Chiefs scored six runs during their first at bat, Twarowski relaxed even at the plate with three hits during the game.
