Sterling Work Together in Victory

Each and every game a team will have one, two or maybe three players who have the right individual match ups enabling those players to take control of a game. A team would then begin to look for those right situations for those players and begin to receive positive results. It was Kierstyne McGuire's turn to lead the Silver Knights from Sterling field hockey team on several good scoring chances against Woodbury. For two halves, the Knights were able to kept most of the play in the attack zone and they would be rewarded with a 3-0 win. McGuire recorded a goal and two assists in a totally team effort.
Woodbury, in their previous game, finished in a tie with Paulsboro and they were looking to pick up a win at Sterling. The Lady Knights were looking to bounce back from a loss to Haddon Township and it would begin with a win on their school’s field. Sterling took control with their defense to take a lead at the half. After the break, Woodbury would make a run at getting on the scoreboard but the Knights would step up their defense. Sterling would receive goals from McGuire, Amanda Campbell and Melissa Yeager. Jess Stewart would pick up the win in goal for the Lady Knights.
