Riverside has been working hard trying to get a winning streak going so far this season. The Rams were two games under five hundred and were looking to come back with a win after suffering a one-point loss to Florence. Standing in their way was a determined Granville Charter boy's basketball team who overcame a double digital lead to send this non-league contest into overtime. This time, Darryl Canty's 26 points helped the home team get by Granville 73-69.
Back and forth these two teams went in the first half with Riverside leading by one at the start of the third quarter. Riverside would explode for 25 points in the third quarter and jump out to a 13-point lead going into the final quarter.
Granville, behind the shooting of Davon Walker and Marqui King, came storming back to send this contest into overtime. The duo did their best to end their four game losing streak. In the overtime period, a good start and finish gave the Rams the win. Darryl Canty led Riverside with a game high 26 points while Mirek Babiarz chipped in 22 points. Granville's Marqui King had a team high 22 points and Davon Walker finished with 20 points.
