High School Basketball: Wednesday, December 27, 2006 By Stephanie Wright The Lady Panthers from Pitman coaching staff were having success at putting their players in the right situations to win games. It's always nice for a team to start out a new season competitively and that's what Pitman has been doing. Mary Beato and Chayle McFaull has been leading the way in scoring for the Panthers and they would continue helping their team post wins. In their game at home against Overbrook, Pitman jumped out to a double digit lead and never looked back. The Panthers would post a 61-48 victory and extend their winning streak to four games in a row. |
High School Softball: Monday, May 1, 2006 By Joyce Sagerty Here we go again! Another year has past and teams are enjoying the spring time weather we were having but an important date would trump any enjoyment of sunny skies. The cutoff date to qualify for the postseason tournament was less than two weeks away. Pitman, one of the teams hovering around the qualifying win/loss ratio, had to find a way of scoring against freshman pitcher Taylor Chain and the Lady Lions from Gloucester. The Lions' offense would provide enough run support early on and Gloucester would continue to remain amongst the leaders of the Tri-County Conference Classic Division with their 7-1 over Pitman. |
High School Softball: Thursday, May 5, 2005 By Susan Hall This was that time of the year were teams were focusing a bit more on making every play in the field or concentrating harder on connecting the bat with the ball. In a non-league game played at Haddon Heights, Pitman was that visiting team looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. Starting pitcher Erin Murphy was on the mound for the Lady Garnets trying to extend the teams winning streak to two games. Caitlin McDevitt would be one of the reasons Haddon Heights defeat Pitman by a 4-0 score. McDevitt had two hits and two runs batted in with one of them scored on a solo home run. |
High School Soccer: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 By Jerome Michaels Back and forth these teams went for most of the game looking for the right moment and opportunity to score that first goal of the game. For the Panthers from Pitman, they have been successful finding ways to win games and it shows as they have secured a position in the upcoming South Jersey Group 1 playoffs. The Knights has been coming up on the short end this season but it didn't show in this non-league game at Sterling. With the game entering its final minutes, Mark Thompson placed a shot into the net for the only goal of the game. |
