With the regular season coming to an end, there are a few regular season field hockey games that have to be played. The way this area has been experiencing unseasonable warm weather, players and fans of all ages didn’t mind enjoying outdoor events. Today, the Cougars from Cherry Hill East traveled to Pennsauken to take on the Indians. The Cougars had secured a position in the postseason while Pennsauken was looking to end the season on a winning note. Cherry Hill East would control this game and during the final moments of the game, the Lady Cougars would celebrate their 2-1 victory.
Just because there’s a game on the schedule at the end of the season doesn’t mean that a game is not important. With graduating seniors on the team, every game is important especially those season ending games. It’s that last time for the other players to compete together as a team on the field. Cherry Hill East’s Kim Schimpf would score twice in this game during this game allowing the Cougars to take a lead they would never relinquish. Jessica Brogden would score the lone goal for Pennsauken, but it would be Schimpf’s scoring success that allowed the Cougars to post the win.
