When these two teams met earlier in the season, Burlington Township came out on the winning side at home against the Hornets from Pemberton. In that game, four players from Burlington Township scored in double figures that featured a second quarter drought that the Falcons took full advantage. William Jones scored just 3 points in that game as Pemberton loss by 10 points. This time playing at home, Pemberton behind Jones’ 32 game high points were the ones holding the Falcons to a single digit first quarter. The Hornets spread the ball around allowing them to post an 82-76 on their court for their second straight victory in a row.
The first half featured Pemberton completely dominating the play by almost outscoring the Falcons first half points in the first quarter alone. Jumping out to a 20-8 lead and then a 38-21 halftime advantage gave Pemberton a lead that was hard for Burlington Township to overcome. Not taking any chances, Pemberton increased their lead 61-39 and it seem that would be enough for the win. Township would make a respectable effort in the fourth quarter behind Sterling Green’s 19 points, Corye Patyon’s 18 points and Kevin Brown’s 16 points who helped put 37 points up on the scoreboard. Pemberton was led in scoring by William Jones (32 points) while Dareis Newton scored 16 points, Stacey Jett added 11 points and Jamal White finished with 10 points.
