Zachary Booth scored with fifteen seconds left in the game as Paul VI rallied to tie Shawnee 1-1, in SJHSIHL action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. With goalie Eric Lake pulled for an extra skater, Booth raced down the left side and his quick shot deflected off Shawnee goalie Cippolone and into the net. Cippolone had kept Paul VI off the scoreboard making several outstanding saves, including stops on Brett Doyle and Brett Balco both on deflections.
Both goaltenders played well, and the game was scoreless through two periods. Shawnee scored first as Dragone beat Lake on the short side with less than five minutes remaining in the game. Moments later Dragone had a breakaway and a chance to put his team up by two, but Lake stoned him to give his team a chance. That turned out to be huge as Booth would deliver in the games final seconds.
Notes: Other than a flurry of penalties in the second period, including one where Lake was checked in the corner, and momentarily lost his composure not realizing the referee had the call, this game was very entertaining.
