With the cut-off date just around the corner for teams to get their overall record to five hundred percent or better, Paul VI needed a victory to assure themselves into the post season. Pennsauken Tech would be the team standing in their way as the two participated in an Olympic Conference National Division boy’s basketball game. Paul VI would dominated this game from beginning to end and scored more points in the first quarter than Tech scored all half. The Eagles got everyone involved in their 66-38 victory.
Paul VI dominated right from the start jumping out to a 17-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Eagles applied a swarming defense that the Tornadoes could not penetrate. Once Paul VI was up 40-14 at the half, it was easy sailing from that point on. Brian Wooten scored a game high 17 points, Brian Blumenstein and Bobby Harper added 12 points apiece for the Eagles from Paul VI. Avery Taylor finished the game with a team high 11 points for Pennsauken Tech.
