Plain and simple, you need to stop the running game by Paulsboro in order to have a chance at winning against the Red Raiders. It's a tough task to slow down the ground attack that is lead by senior runningback Issac Redman for four quarters. It was no secret to what the game play was by Paulsboro in their championship game with the Flashes from Florence. Redman was a determined player running his way to five rushing touchdown leading Paulsboro to their third straight title. The Red Raiders' defense also keyed their 50-0 win at home to start the celebrations for Paulsboro.
There were several milestones reached in this game by Redman. Not only did leading rusher for Paulsboro ran for over 200 yards in this game, he also past the 2000 yards barrier for the season and broke the South Jersey record with 37 touchdowns score in a season. Two of those touchdowns came in the first half of this championship game with scores from 14 and 4 yards out. Nino Polimeni's 35-yard field rounded out the score for the half posting a 17-0 lead.
All there was left in this game was whether would break the record in the final quarter. Redman broke through the defense in the third quarter with a 39-yard touchdown run. He would add a 1-yard score in the same quarter setting up the record break touchdown in the fourth quarter. After fullback Jerome Beverly had his number called scoring from 7-yards out, Redman's next scoring opportunity set a new touchdown plateau for others to try and reach next season. Quarterback Eric DiTonno rounded out the scoring for Paulsboro crossing the goal line from 13-yards away.
