Dissolving the Lower Camden County District, changing the high school name, and receiving new coaches didn't keep this team off the tennis court! The "Lady Rams" tennis team, of Pine Hill, will play their first varsity game as Overbrook Senior High.
The school was formerly Overbrook Regional, but due to the dissolution of the district the word "Regional" has been omitted. Along with the new name, the school acquired some new teachers. Two of these teachers took over as the new tennis coaches; Head Coach Jeff Mack and Assistant Coach Doug Stuart.
The Lady Rams opened the season with eight players returning from last year's squad. First singles is sophomore Anelle Saberone; second singles is junior Ankita Adhia; third singles is senior Tracy Scardino (co-captain); first doubles is sophomores Katie Szmidt and Christine Direnzo; second doubles is senior Nicole Ernst, junior Aarti Patel, and senior Shena Faith (co-captain).
The change has really sparked some new confidence for these first time varsity players. Aarti Patel remarked, "We've improved a lot from last season, I now walk into a match with more confidence."Co-captain Shena Faith added, "This year we've learned a lot, we're more competitive, and it's FUN!"
