High School Soccer: Monday, October 18, 2004 By Stephanie Wright When Egg Harbor Township visited Our Lady of Mercy Academy last week, the shot attempts came easy for the Lady Villagers but not the goals. A total of thirty shots were taken but only one made it into the net. The same pattern continued when this time, Wildwood Catholic was the opponent and the only goal needed was again scored by Jen Woldrow. When you get that much production from the second leading scorer on the team, nothing but good rewards or wins can happen. Our Lady’s Meghan Zapeic recorded her seventh shutout of the season in route to their 4-0 victory. Jen Woldrow deposited her 11th goal of the season giving Our Lady the early 1-0 first half lead. It was the second straight goal that the game winner was scored by Woldrow. Caitlin Hess, who leads the team in assisted, also scored along with Maira Grady to expand their lead to 3-0. Grady rounded out the scoring in this game with her 19th goal of the season and Our Lady stretched their record to 9-3 to remain on top of the Cape-Atlantic Conference National Division II. |
