High School Soccer: Monday, October 11, 2004 By Susan Hall When the schedule gives your team a chance to play the first place team in your division, it’s an opportunity that the second place team relishes. Sacred Heart was that team looking up in the Cape-Atlantic Conference National Division II at Our Lady of Mercy. The reason Our Lady has been on top is because they have been winning the games they needed to remain in first place. With two goals in the first half, Our Lady was able to post the 3-1 victory to widen their lead in the division. Maria Grady, like she has been doing all season long, got the games’ first goal on an assist by Caitlin Hess. The two teamed up again but this time Hess recorded the goal and the Lady Villagers lead by two at the break. Both teams managed to score a goal apiece in the second half. Grady scored her second goal of the game. Our Lady improved to 8-3 on the season. |
