The Red Raiders from Ocean City have been in this situation so many times you would think that they have gotten use to all of the pressure. For the past nine years, the field hockey team has made it to the finals of the South Jersey Group III tournament. They have won their last three titles as the number one seed and loss three as the lower seed. The last time the Red Raiders won the sectional title not sitting in the top spot was seven years ago. Back as the highest seed in a bracket, Kingsway was back as the number two seed looking to defend their two year reign. Ocean City had come up on the short end of those games, but this year would be different. In the second overtime period, Melissa Hunter's goal minutes into the session would return the title back to Ocean City.

For the past two years, Kingsway and Ocean City have been dueling it out in the sectional finals and only one goal would be scored. This year wouldn't be any different as both teams had their chances and both teams have excellent defenses to turn away most break away chances. Both teams have strong goal keeping as Ocean City's Devon Seifert and Kingsway's Brittany Dipper has demonstrate game after game. Today's game would not be any different as the two teams could not score during regulation and the first overtime period. But four minutes into the second overtime, Kimmie Krzyk sent a cross over to Hunter for a wide open shot at the cage. Before the ball even crossed the line, Ocean City was well into their celebrations.
