Clearview traveled to Ocean City to take on the Red Raiders in a South Jersey Group 3 tournament field hockey action. Ocean City (19-0-1) has had a successful season this year as they have not loss a single game. The number one seeded Ocean City posted a 2-0 victory. Maggie Long would score the game winner in the first half to send the Red Raiders into the semi-finals against a very familiar opponent Central Regional.
Ocean City has had their reign for several years in the SJ Group 3 playoffs. For the past 4 years, the Red Raiders have made it to the finals winning 3 of those titles. Two of those wins have been against their next opponent Central Regional. Their only loss during that span was to this year's second seeded Cumberland.
The first half goal was scored with 10:54 showing on the first half game clock as Nikki Hinsley assisted on Long's first goal of the game. Long's second in the second half was scored around the same time as her first goal to put Ocean City up by two. Those goals looked a lot bigger than that for Clearview as they could not get any pressure on keeper Gwen Hunter.
