High School Basketball: Wednesday, December 27, 2006 By Jerome Michaels With the start of a new basketball season, expectations are usually high for every team that steps out on the court. There are those teams that many did not rank them as one of the elites, but that doesn't stop the players from competing in a sport that they love to play. Cory Gosik was one of those players connecting on nine three points for the Cougars from Cherry Hill East in a game played against Northern Burlington. The Cougars would hold off a late rally and post a 53-51 victory in a tournament competition. |
High School Field Hockey: Thursday, October 26, 2006 By Stephanie Wright Two teams that have already secured a seed in the upcoming NJSIAA state tournament were Northern Burlington and Holy Cross. Today, they had an opportunity to compete in an inter-division Burlington County League field hockey game. For one half of this classic match up, neither team had an advantage on the scoreboard at intermission. Taking advantage of their situations, the Lady Lancers would score the only goals of the second half and posted a 3-1 victory over Northern Burlington. Lauren Hadam scored twice for Holy Cross. |
High School Basketball: Monday, January 23, 2006 By Jerome Michaels For the second time this season, Northern Burlington and Willingboro competed against one another this time on the Greyhounds home court. Willingboro won the first game by ten points, but it’s always harder to play a team twice and expect that the same game plan will work. The Chimeras’ first quarter success pushed Northern Burlington into a deficit they would try to recover from for the remainder of this game. The Greyhounds would outscore Willingboro during the final three quarters, but the Chimeras would hold on to this game and pick up the 55-51 victory. |
