Repeating as champions is never an easy task to accomplish, but for the Lady Quakers girl's soccer team they have been enjoying their success so far. Winners of the Burlington County League Freedom Division and the number one seed in this year's South Jersey Group III tournament, Samantha Davis is the team's leading scorer but others have the ability to put the ball into the net. On this day, Brooke Cantwell led the Quakers in scoring against the fourth seeded Lady Falcons from Oakcrest to advance to the finals against Clearview. Moorestown used four different players to score goals as they went on to pick up the 5-1 victory.
When this game started, Moorestown showed why they were the number one seed in their bracket. Just under four minutes into this game, the Lady Quakers had appeared to have scored but an off sides call nullified the goal and would continue to pressure the Falcons defense. Finally, with 26:13 showing on the game clock Moorestown’s Taylor Chumney scored assisted by Marjory Elwell. Cantwell would double the Quakers’ advantage off of a rebound. The scoring continued with Davis getting the first goal of the second half and the lead swelled to 3-0. Cantwell scored her second goal of the game when she received a pass from Davis and the game was well in Moorestown favor. Jess Davis scored the final goal for the Lady Quakers and Oakcrest would avoid the shutout when Jackie Reyes found the net.
