Kevin Schaeffer provided all the offense as Moorestown defeated Williamstown 3-1 in the SJHSIHL double elimination tournament on Friday. Andrew Miller, in goal for Moorestown, was also a factor in ending any hopes Williamstown had of advancing as he stopped thirty-three shots. The biggest stop coming in the last five minutes as he stoned Jared Siganuk on a breakaway. Schaeffer scored the only goal of the first period as he deflected a shot by JT Hooper from the point. After a scoreless second period, Williamstown tied the game at 1-1 as Miller came out to challenge Siganuk from the point and made the save. Ryan Schureman was there to deposit the rebound.

When Williamstown looks back on this game, it will be their failure on the power play that will stand out as the difference. On their fifth opportunity early in the third period, Greg Custer for Moorestown broke down the right side and after drawing over the defenseman, he slid the puck to a streaking Schaeffer who jammed the puck into the net for a 2-1 lead. Just at the end of the power play, Schaeffer picked up a loose puck from along the boards and completed his hat trick with a shot that went under the crossbar. Moorestown will now play Timber Creek in Voorhees on Monday night at 5:30.
