Moorestown was able to finally play baseball with their extended layoff. The weather didn't help with more rain in the forecast. Today, this game would be played as Woodstown and host Moorestown participated in a South Jersey Group 2 playoff game. The Quakers would use three pitchers in their first round playoff game and a fifth inning homerun by Luke Hadden highlighted Moorestown's 4-1 victory at home.
After two scoreless innings, starting pitcher Zeke Boren kept Woodstown off the scoreboard during the top of the third inning. Moorestown would score the first run of the game when Hadden came through with a bases loaded single. The Quakers scored two runs and took that lead into the fourth inning. But Boren never started the inning as Coach Bill Donohue elected to bring in Spencer Gaskill. The Wolverines would cut the Moorestown's lead in half, but the Quakers got the run back in the bottom of the fourth.
Moorestown never trailed in this game and their pitching staff's held the Wolverines to only two hits. Hadden blasted his homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning to finalize the scoring in this playoff game. Tim Trotman pitched the last inning for Moorestown to close the game out. The Quakers will visit Buena in the next round of the playoffs.
