High School Softball: Monday, May 1, 2000
By Crystal Parker With the Easter break completed for most schools and April showers hopefully now over, Willingboro traveled to Moorestown in a Burlington County girl's softball game. Both these teams were looking for any kind of win late in the season. After scoring early and often, the Lady Quakers had little problems defeating Willingboro 12-2 on Monday afternoon. Moorestown took advantage early on Willingboro mistakes. With starting pitcher Julie Terpak keeping Willingboro batters off the bases, the bottom of the first inning was successful for Moorestown. After a few fielding errors, Moorestown had runners in scoring position. Those runners scored and Willingboro was down 2-0. Catcher Christina Procacci was the key batter in the second inning, coming through with the big hit for Moorestown. The Lady Quakers increased their record to 8-6 in the Burlington County League. Procacci, Terpak and Niki Ernst had three hits apiece as Moorestown cruised to the victory. Terpak pitched an excellent game as her teammates helped her record the victory. Photos by Art Redd
