High School Lacrosse: Saturday, April 10, 1999
By Forrest Robleto Ridgewood came two hours south to meet the only high school in South Jersey fielding a boy's lacrosse team and handled them easily. Ridgewood outshot Moorestown 31-13 and outscored them 8-5. Moorestown's keeper Joe Canuso did a credible job while Ridgewood's Kack didn't have much work. Ridgewood scored first at 4:46 when Dale Wiener found the mark. Andy Reenstra helped Dale Wiener move Ridgewood to 2-0, then Andy Reenstra helped Dale Wiener to a three to zero lead. Moorestown finally got on board as Andy Hipple scored unassisted. Moorestown's Majid Kureshi with the help from Michael McGinley moved Moorestown to within one, 4-3, but Ridgewood's Evan Harris came back with three seconds left in the half to make in five to three. Adam Bourke assisted on the goal. In the second half, Moorestown's Michael McGinley opened the scoring to come back to within one assisted by Andy Hipple. But two minutes later, Adam Bourke gave Ridgewood a six to four lead and Kyle Wormser and Mike Coomber combined to make it seven to four. McGinley scored again (unassisted) to get back within two. Ridgewood's Dale Wiener and Mike Coomber finished the scoring to take it to eight to five. Collen Dalon, the scorekeeper for Moorestown was extremely helpful with the statistics.
