Christopher Lanciano had three goals and an assist and Andrew Renzi stopped all 18 shots as St. John Neumann defeated Lenape 9-0 at Hollydell on Friday night to remain undefeated in Tier 2 competition. After Curran McCauley opened the scoring early in the game, Lanciano fed a perfect pass from the corner to Iamurri in front of the net and Neumann led 2-0. Moments after the center ice face-off, Lanciano skated down the right side and his quick shot found the net and Neumann led 3-0 midway through the period. Renzi wasn't tested until early in the second period when Tom Lizzio was alone in front, but Renzi stoned him to keep the lead at three goals.
Jonathan Coley scored a highlight goal as he skated from the top of the right circle to the slot and ripped a laser shot back to the short side to make it 4-0. Neumann despite missing five regulars was in control and also received goals from Nick Miraglia and Mike Ricciardi. And despite a late flurry by Lenape in the closing moments Renzi stood tall and preserved his shutout.
