It was another test for both teams to face as they both won their previous game and were looking to keep their momentum moving in the right direction. The Fighting Clan from Vineland traveled to Kingsway to take on the Dragons in a non-league boys' lacrosse competition. The young Vineland team appeared confident at the start of this game, but senior Anthony Conti from Kingsway quickly jumped on the scoreboard with two goals and set the tone for the rest of the game. The Dragons opened up a five goal lead at the break and expanded that lead to a final score of 13-1. Conti scored four goals during the first half alone to lead Kingsway to their fifth win of the season.
So far this season, Anthony Conti for the Kingsway boys’ lacrosse team has been scoring a ton of goals for the Dragons. Nothing would change in this game as Conti’s four goal first half production help Kingsway jump out to a 6-0 lead. Will Sykes would get the Fighting Clan on the scoreboard at the 6:03 mark of the second quarter. Joe Mallon would score his first of three goals during the first half helping Kingsway to post an 8-1 lead. Starting out the second half, the Dragons erased any thoughts of an upset on their home field when Mallon scored twice in the third quarter. Next up for the Dragons is another test with the highly regarded Lancers from Holy Cross.
