Lady Lancers Get Everyone into the Game

It was the start of a new season were two familiar teams would meet on the basketball court for a Burlington County Patriot Division game. The Lancers from Holy Cross were hosting the Scotties from Bordentown in a game that started out with both teams were trying to find a way to gain the advantage. Holy Cross would take control of this game during the second and third quarter to expand their single digit lead into double digits. By the time the final buzzer could be heard, The Lady Lancers had eight different players finding their way into the scoring column and pick up the 49-39 decision over Bordentown.
The first quarter of this game found both teams looking to knock off the opening game nervousness. Both teams combined for a total of sixteen first quarter points with the Lancers holding a two point advantage. But once the second quarter began, so did Holy Cross’ dominance in this game. The Lancers would expand on their 26-16 halftime lead during the third quarter to a fifteen point lead. The Scotties would outscore Holy Cross during the final quarter, but the Lancers hold off Bordentown and pick up their third win in four games. Steph Deisley finished with a game high 15 points while Kara Hinkelmon added 11 points for Holy Cross. LaToya Taylor had a team high 13 points for Bordentown and Taryn Lynch contributed 11 points for the Scotties.
