A Win in the Right Direction for Highland

There are several teams looking ahead on their schedule trying to find out how many games they need to win in order to qualify for the upcoming tournament. The Lady Tartans from Highland was one of those teams as every game is a necessary win in order to finish with a five hundred percentage record or better by next Friday. West Deptford would take their two game winning streak to Highland which included winning four of their last five games. The Tartans put all of their opponent's recent success behind them and went on to defeat West Deptford 8-5 in a non-league softball game.

Amanda Branco got the start for Highland and her teammates would provide her with run support during the second inning. Trailing by a run, the Lady Tartan posted a three run inning and Highland would lead 3-1. Two innings later and with West Deptford shrinking their deficit to a run, Chrissy Cifelli came through with a key single highlighting a rally and Highland led 6-3 heading into the sixth inning. Both teams would add two more runs to their total and Highland with the win would even their record.
