Mike Varano had four goals and Mike Salvatore and Rob Cross added two each as Highland skated to a 10-3 win over Hammonton. The win was their first of the season, and clearly their best game since being placed in the proper Tier. Hammonton, in just its first season, is still looking for their first victory. The game was 1-1 after the first period as Mark Weiss, who led Hammonton with two goals, scored, but Highland would score a power play goal by Andre Trapani to even things up. Highland took control of the game in the second period scoring six times, four goals in a span of four minutes with Varano netting a hat trick.
Glen Butterworth also scored for Williamstown and James Mandel had the remaining goal for Hammonton. Next, up for Hammonton will be St. John Neumann and Highland will battle Cherokee II.
