It was the last regular scheduled season game for both of these teams as they would use this game as a tune up before the group playoffs begin. The Haddon Township Hawks traveled to Highland High School to take on the Tartans’ boy’s soccer team. The Tartans posted a 4-2 victory in a non-league game. Highland will play it’s first round on Tuesday against Lacey Township while the Hawks will have a tough match against Haddonfield on Thursday.
Highland (12-5-1) has had its share of winning streaks this season. During mid season, the Tartans had a five game win snapped but won 7 out of their last 9 games including 3 of their last 5 regular scheduled games. That’s enough to give a team, seeded 8th in the upcoming Group 3 playoffs, a boost, as they will take on 9th seeded Lacey Township. Haddon Township will participate in the Group 2 playoffs but are faced with the number one-seeded Bulldogs from Haddonfield.
During this match-up, Highland’s Chris Scafidi found the net twice and Geoff Schaeffer and Jim Collison each had one as Highland beat Haddon Township 4-2. The Hawks two goals were from Kevin Raible and Bryan Fredrich.
