Whenever teams has been going through a losing streak, the best remedy is to find out what needs to be fixed and get back on the court. When the Garnets from Haddon Heights traveled to Haddon Township, both teams were looking to find a way to come away with the win. The Colonial Conference has several teams that were capable of putting up double digit victories. This game would be a chance to come away with a conference win. Brandon Kersey had success find his range helping Haddon Heights break a halftime tie and built a lead that decided this game. The Garnets would post the 51-43 victory and pick up their first conference win.
The two teams started out this game pretty much trading basket for basket. The Hawks would own a two point lead after one quarter only to see Haddon Heights stay one step ahead to tie this game at 23-23. At the start of the third quarter, Kersey would aggressively attack the basket helping the Garnets outscore Township by a 17-10 margin. With a seven point lead, Haddon Heights would continue to keep up with their opponents’ success during the final quarter to pick up the win. Kersey led the Garnets with 15 points, Pat Costello added 14 and Jeff McLean finished with 10 points. For the Hawks, Greg Francis led the team with 13 points.
