High School Field Hockey: Thursday, November 9, 2006 By Stephanie Wright These two teams were very familiar with one another as they had met in last year's playoffs. The Bulldogs from Glassboro were looking to repeat their performance by knocking off the Lady Crusaders out of the post season tournament for the second year in a row. This evenly played first half of field hockey had to be decided during that all-important second half. The host Bishop Eustace would rally behind Leah Furey's goal midway through the half proved to be the game winner. The Crusaders, with their 3-1 victory over Glassboro, will advance to the state finals. |

The Bulldogs from Glassboro has been successful at winning those important games from their division while the Lions from Gloucester have been looking for ways to come away with a win. The way the first half of this Tri-County Conference Classic Division game ended, neither team held an advantage. It wouldn't be until midway through the third quarter that the Bulldogs would begin to slowly pull away. Glassboro would finish off Gloucester by posting a 68-45 victory. |
High School Soccer: Friday, November 4, 2005 By Clark Washington Unbelievable weather we are having in the month of November which has made sitting out and enjoying the boy’s soccer game extremely easy. On a day when you could go outside in a short sleeve shirt, jeans and comfortable shoes, an exciting game broke out in Cinnaminson when Glassboro visiting the Pirates in a South Jersey Group 2 boy’s soccer game watched the Bulldogs take an early one goal lead into intermission. Cinnaminson turned the game around in the second half scoring four goals only to watch Glassboro rally late in this game. The Pirates would prevail as Cinnaminson would advance to meet Delran in the next round after defeating Glassboro 4-3. |
High School Football: Saturday, November 22, 2003 By Vincent Lewis Glassboro did their homework preparing for their semi-final football battle against the Thundering Herd from Woodbury High School. Score as many points possible and hope it would be enough to advance to the South Jersey Group I finals. That theory lasted for one half of this game as the Bulldogs early lead quickly dissipated in the second half. Woodbury’s defense kept the pressure on Glassboro and gave their offense excellent field position for runningback Chris Pressley to score three consecutive touchdowns. Woodbury recorded the 27-14 victory and will now travel to take on Schalick for the title. |
