Going into this game, Edgewood's head coach Derryk Sellers felt his Eagles would make a strong case for conference title for 'The Last Time'. With 8 starters returning on both offense and defense, the race for conference champs was in their hands for the Y2K season. "This year's team would be considered one of my favorites and will be very competitive", mentioned Sellers. Both sides of the ball for Edgewood were having their way through the entire game. The visiting Camden Panthers were no match against the Eagles defense as Edgewood rolled to a 46-0 victory behind the running of Brandon Osborne.

The ground game and the defense of Edgewood stole the show right from the start of the opening kickoff. Wasting little time getting the number and name Brandon Osborne recognized was not a problem. In the first quarter, behind a successful offensive line opening wholes was Osborne making his way into the Panthers secondary. With the defense concentrating on stopping the run, senior starting quarterback Nick Rosetti found Osborne for a 10 yard touchdown pass.

The Eagles defense forced Camden to turnover the ball and give the Edgewood offense another chance to put points on the board. Running back Dennis Davis was also able to penetrate the Panthers defense. But it was the 1,000 yard rusher from last year who scored his second touchdown of the quarter. Osborne would add his second rushing touchdown of the quarter to cap off a 19-0 lead.

Edgewood would continue pile on the points as the running game had its way all day. Scores from Rosetti (2 yard run), Osborne (35 yard run), Davis (3 yard run), and Pollock (1 yard run) accounted for the 46 points put on the scoreboard. Next up for the Eagles will be the Eastern Vikings at Eastern on Friday night. Another test for both teams will show how far these schools will go in this upcoming season.
