By Rellcam In the season opener, Eagles new Head Coach Derryk Sellers began his tenure at Edgewood Regional with an impressive 38-6 win over the highly ranked Woodrow Wilson Tigers. The Eagles Junior running back Brandon Osborne scored his first of two touchdowns on an explosive 32 yard run. Eagles tailback Jason Sapp added a 3-yard touchdown run to give the Edgewood Eagles an early first quarter lead of 14-0. On the Tigers' first possession, the Edgewood Eagles defense held the Woodrow Wilson Tigers. On the Eagles first possession running back Brandon Osborne led the Eagles scoring attack with a 15-yard run and a 32-yard touchdown run. The Tigers high-powered offense, led by nationally recruited wide receiver Rashad Baker, sputtered against the Edgewood Eagles stingy defense. Doug Pires, Mike Grant, Bill Corbin, and Matt Thomas led the Eagles defense. The Eagles secondary matched the talented Tigers receiving corps speed. Roger Brown anchored the secondary, limiting Rashad Baker to three receptions. The Tigers only score came in the second quarter when quarterback Byan Barker threw a 32-yard strike to Dwayne Earl beating Eagles cornerback Dennis Davis. The Eagles secondary of Roger Brown, Jason Sapp, and Dennis Davis each intercepted a Barker pass. The Edgewood Eagles quarterback Nick Rosetti guided the Eagles balanced attack. Rosetti threw two touchdown passes, 39-yards to Osborne and 15-yards to Davis. Jason Sapp rushed for 93 yards and had two touchdowns.
