By Rellcam The Edgewood Eagles running back Brandon Osborne's 4th quarter 4-yard touchdown run broke a 7-7 tie. This gave Edgewood their first conference win of the year, as they defeated the Rancocas Valley Red Devils by the score of 13-7. The Offensive Side of the Game: Osborne rushed for 120 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns. This is the third time this season that Osborne has run for more than 100 yards in a game. Osborne scored the Eagles' first touchdown on a 10 yard run in the second quarter. Abner Tsadick made the extra point to put Edgewood up 7-0. Rancocas Valley tied the score in the 4th quarter when Quarterback Shawn Bires connected with Antwon Birdsong on a 5-yard pass. Edgewood rushed for a total of 174 yards. Jason Sapp, 31 yards on 7 carries, made a big run at the end of the game to give Edgewood a first down and time was able to run out. Rancocas Valley rushed for 104-yards on 41 carries. Edgewood's Quarterback Nick Rosetti, 2 for 12 and 45 yards, made a big completion to Dennis Davis to keep Edgewood driving after Rancocas Valley scored. The Defensive Side of the Game: The Eagles defense was led by Chris Catania who had 10 solo tackles, 2 sacks, and a very big blocked field goal in the second quarter to keep the score 0-0. The plays that led up to the blocked field goal are as follows. Rancocas Valley's wide receiver Tyrone Powell broke free in the Eagles secondary en route to a sure touchdown, but Edgewood's speedster Dennis Davis ran him down to prevent the score. The ball was down in the red zone for Rancocas Valley, but on the next 3 plays, Edgewood's defense of Adam Faris, Doug Pires, and Jason Sapp tighten up to keep make a 4th and long. Rancocas Valley went for the field goal attempt and it was block by Catania and returned to the 40 by Dennis Davis. Rancocas Valley's defense, led by Scott Kennedy, also played a great game. They did not let Edgewood get any of their big plays. Photos by Boog Williams Click here for more game photos.
