High School Field Hockey: Monday, October 5, 1998
By Pam Gargano The Edgewood field hockey team is remaining in their slump. With the 1-4-2 start to the season, the Eagles look doubtful for their fourth consecutive state tournament run. Despite the 5-0 score, the Eagles played their hardest against #1 ranked Eastern. This proved to be one of the few games Edgewood came out ready to play. The next game became a must win against Cherry Hill East on Monday, Sept. 28th. The Eagles came out flat and lost 1-0. They remained in a scoring drought, tying a beatable Highland team 0-0 on Friday. Edgewood needs a strong end to the season starting with rival school Overbrook on Tuesday. "We need to wake up and put the ball in the cage," said Senior Captain Beckie Goobic. Photos from Highland vs. Edgewood Photos by Art Redd
