Anthony Orner had two goals and two assists and Danny Meyers stopped twenty-five shots as Eastern skated by Shawnee 7-1 in Tier 1 action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. The Vikings, who are the healthiest they have been all season, are starting to jell as a team. Despite having only two seniors, forward Mike Frohberg and defenseman Joe DiLauro, Eastern is playing disciplined hockey and avoiding the silly penalties. After Rory Levinson put Eastern up 1-0, Orner and Brandon Tunstall, whose injured foot seems to have healed, broke in and Orner's quick shot from the slot found the back of the net and the Vikings led 2-0.

Reese Stern responded for Shawnee just seconds after the Eastern goal and with Meyers flat on his back, Stern lifted a rebound of a shot by Bill Fawley and the lead was down to 2-1. Late in the period Tunstall and Orner connected again, this time on the power play. They broke in on a 2-on-1 with Orner holding the puck until the defenseman committed and slid the puck to Tunstall who had the empty net to shoot at and his goal made it 3-1.

Meyers was tested twice early in the second period with his best save coming when he stoned Todd Dennison on a breakaway. Eastern added two goals in the period, the second on a blast from the circle by Anthony DeFino to put the Vikings in control at 5-1. Orner and Sean Sullivan added goals in the final period to seal the deal.
