Eastern captured their first win of the season as Adam Roy broke a 2- 2 tie midway through the third period and the Vikings held on for a 3-2 victory. The real story of the game however was the outstanding play of Scott Gideon, the Cinnaminson goalie, who overall faced fifty-five shots and kept his team in the game. Marc Manara opened the scoring for Eastern with just under four minutes played scoring an unassisted goal after a flurry of shots at Gideon. The period would end at 1-0 and the Vikings outshooting Cinnaminson 17-5.

Cinnaminson would score the first two goals within five minutes of the second period as Wood and Devele tallied. Despite the Vikings constant pressure, they trailed 2-1. The game had the feel of an upset and now with the lead Cinnaminson started to gain some confidence. Finally Bob Ianni tied the game in the last minute of the period with John Schellenhammer assisting and we headed into the third period tied at 2-2.

Entering the period Eastern had outshot Cinnaminson 32-12 and early on they went on the power play but Gideon was stellar as he stoned in succession Manara, Schellenhammer and T.J. Connolly to keep the game tied. Finally Roy would break the tie with assists going to Brett Picciotti and Marc Manara, who also played a strong game. Eastern kept the pressure on and would fire twenty-three shots at Gideon but would have to hang on for the 3-2 victory.
