Delsea Boy's Soccer: Wednesday, May 13, 1998
By Gregg Williams Delsea Regional High School Boy's soccer coach Vince Nestore would like to congratulate the following players that will be playing college soccer next year:
George Boland - Rider University Coach Nestore and South Jersey Sports Online wish all these outstanding leaders, players and men, The Best of Luck! The Delsea Boys Soccer Team compiled a 19 - 3 - 0 record, 13 - 1 in the conference. This group of seniors will be missed. They have compiled a record of 61 - 15 - 3 in their four years, and ended a stellar career with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Brick Memorial. Wright, Tice and DiGiuseppe's scoring (54 goals between them) will be hard to replace, but Coach Nestore will still have 8 starters returning for next year's team. "Next year's team will be young and inexperienced, but we hope to continue to our winnings ways," said Coach Nestore. "We had a very strong J.V. Team. They have posted a record of 53 - 1 - 3 over the past four years. Our off-season workouts will once again determine our success next season. The will to win and hard work are the driving force behind the boys success." The captains for next year team will be: Seniors John Epley (Midfielder, 12 goals and 14 assist), T.J. Velykis (Forward, 16 goals and 11 assist), Steve Yurchak (Back/Midfielder, 5 goals 2 assist), and Junior Ken Muits (Back, 1 goal 1 assist).
