High School Soccer: Tuesday, August 18, 1998
By Vince Nestore The boys from Delsea High School's 1997 Soccer squad have graduated to College Soccer: Bill Epley is now at Division I, Bucknell in the Ivy League and hasn't missed a beat. Bill was second in total points this past fall. Bill's ability to perform at the next level has a lot to do with his incredible work ethic. This performance as a freshman nearly earned him Freshman of the Year in the Ivy League. He placed second to the player from Navy. Expect Bucknell in the next few years to make a run at the Ivy League crown. Bill has always been a winner and I expect it to be no different at Bucknell. Tony Cooper and Kai Fields are at Division III power, Stockton. Tony and Kai both started at Stockton this past fall. This was a difficult task to do for any freshman, considering Stockton plays in the most difficult conference in Division III, if not the nation. Tony played strong in the offensive third of the field and Kai played in the defensive third of the field. Both boys showed that they belong. John Petsch is at Rutgers-Camden. John started the season on the pine. It wasn't long before the coaching staff realized that John had a certain competitive fire they were looking for. John had this fire and never saw the pine again this past season. John played an offensive midfielder for Rutgers. Rutgers should be much improved next fall. Matt Poupard is transferring to Rutgers to play this coming fall. Great job, Men! You enable our boys on Delsea's Varsity, J.V., and Freshman level to have something to shoot for. Thanks, Coach Nestore
