Seven penalties, seven goals and eight assists all during the third period alone highlighted the ice hockey game played at Hollydell Ice Arena Friday night. Six of those goals that were scored during that period were short handed according to the scorer's sheet. Both Rancocas Valley and Clearview were trying to extend their season as they participated in this single elimination game. These two teams were bounced out of the winner's bracket with a loss and had to battle it out on the ice looking to advance their way toward the finals. A five goal explosion by Clearview would be the difference in this game. Goalie Chuck Storms would save 26 of 29 shot attempts helping Clearview to their 7-3 victory.

Clearview got on the scoreboard very quickly during the opening moments of the game. Just forty-one seconds into this game, Mike Sullivan wrist a shot in close that went off the goalie's glove and trickled into the net. Shaun Stamm and Matt Klanchar assisted on Sullivan’s first goal of the game. Rancocas Valley would even the score with 4:46 remaining in the period when Kevin Lion put a shot on the net that Ryan Smith redirected it past the goalie. But during the second period, Klanchar would put Clearview back ahead when he beat Chris Wells on the shot side on an unassisted goal.

When the final period of regulation began, it appeared that is game might come down to the final moments. The game would change a bit when Clearview was issued two roughing penalties and Rancocas one leaving Rancocas Valley with the man advantage skating four players against three. From that point on, it would be Clearview that went on the attack. Goals by Sullivan, Matt Gagne, Stamm, Justin Polizzi and Chris McGoldrick pushed Clearview’s lead to 7-1 with just over three minutes remaining in the game. Storms would give up two late goals, but Clearview would be the team extending their season.
