Mike Sullivan scored three goals and Bill Dunbar added two as Clearview survived a slow start and defeated Cherry Hill West 10-2 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. West jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Justin Hoch and John Lynch scored and were out-playing Clearview for most of the period. With less than two minutes remaining in the first period, Wyatt Fox converted on a 3-on-1 and thirty seconds later Dunbar would tie the score at 2-2 with his first of two goals. Therefore, despite having been outplayed, Clearview started the second period even. Nick Vaccarino put Clearview ahead for good as he scored from behind the net banking the puck off the pads of the goalie.
Sullivan made it 4-2 using his quickness to create scoring opportunities and Clearview seemed to have found their jump. Cherry Hill West had three good scoring chances, two when they had a two-man advantage, and one from point blank range, but Bobby Kovarovic stopped all three to keep his team ahead by two. When freshman sensation Jim Sprinkle went end-to-end for a short-handed goal to put Clearview up 5-2 that seem to deflate West. Then Dunbar made a great pass to Jim Fritz in front and his power play goal made it 6-2 heading into the final period. Two goals by Sullivan and one by Dunbar and Danny Pratta finished off West.
