Chris Riggs, Bill Dunbar and Jon Probe scored two goals each as Clearview beat Shawnee 9-1 in Tier 1 action on Friday night at Hollydell. With Shawnee missing their top line and also a top defenseman, the first period was competitive. Probe scored a short-handed goal on a nice pass from Dave Gooch and with eighteen seconds left in the period, Probe scored again this time sent in on a breakaway by Mike Sullivan to make it 2-0.
Clearview broke the game open in the second period scoring five goals, four in a span of five minutes. First Riggs set-up Dunbar and Dunbar returned the favor finding Riggs all alone along side of the net for an easy tap-in goal to make it 4-0. Goals by Gooch, Riggs, Dunbar and Sullivan put the game away. Joe Giafaglione scored the lone goal for Shawnee on the power play late in the third period. With only one loss so far this season, Clearview will be tough to catch as we start the second half of the season.
