High School Ice Hockey: Friday, November 5, 1999
By Mike Pontonio There was a game played on Friday night at the Holleydell Ice Hockey Rink that turned out to be a shoot out. Clearview went up against Cinnaminson in a SJHSIHL game that the quicker team dominated. Clearview had little problems winning the game 10-0, but lost Mike Cianfrani for two weeks with a slight shoulder separation. Gunnar Fox and Patrick Sullivan each had a hat trick. Clearview is a team that has been breezing through the season with their undefeated record and has been putting their opponents away early. In the first period, you would have thought different as both teams skated to a scoreless tie. Goalie Gideon from Cinnaminson stood up to the task of Clearview's firepower by stopping all sixteen shots. Cinnaminson only had two shots on goal in the initial period. By the end of the second period, Gideon faced a total of thirty shots on goal. But this time, Clearview's Robbie Coble, Gunnar Fox and Patrick Sullivan each scored a goal to put their team up 3-0. It seemed as if Cinnaminson just ran out of gas as the third period saw seven unanswered goals put on the board by Clearview. There were thirteen shots put on goal during the final period. Scoring summary: Game totals, Clearview out shot Cinnaminson 43-11.
