Anthony Mottola had a goal and two assists and Pete Cahill added two goals and an assist as Cinnaminson breezed by Triton 5-0 on Friday night at Hollydell. Kevin Kloss faced only eighteen shots in nets in posting the shutout. Brian Crosby, who scored the first of his two goals, opened the scoring in the first period. After Mottola controlled the puck behind the net and fed Crosby who skated unguarded in front and went top-shelf to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead. Cinnaminson carried much of the play in the period and with just over two minutes left, Cahill and Billy Longo broke in 2-on-1. After the initial save, Jake Fillmyer deposited the rebound into the net to make it 2-0.
Early in the second period, Mottola again working behind the net slid a nice pass to Crosby and he tucked the puck in along the short side to make it 3-0. Cahill would score the next two goals, first from close in front at the six-minute mark, then with less than a minute left in the period. He picked up a loose puck at the top of the left circle and ripped a shot long-side and the lead was 5-0. The only business left was to preserve the shutout and the Pirates defense made sure Triton offense was held in check as they only generated six shots on goal in the final period.
