Five different players scored for Cinnaminson as they defeated Cherry Hill East 5-3 on Monday night at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. With the season winding down and teams looking forward to next season, East got a glimpse of the future when they inserted freshman goalie Zack Fesnak. With his team trailing 2-0 after the games first 2 minutes on goals by Ryan Hulton and Anthony Asciutto, Fesnak came in and played spectacular. Sparked by Finks' play, East cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal by Jim Brown on a blast from the point.
Cinnaminson increased the lead to 3-1, when Chris Pod scored from just along the side of the net. About one minute later Pod and Pete Cahill broke in all alone and after Fesnak stopped Pod, Cahill put home the rebound and East trailed 4-1 after one period. The only goal of the second period was scored by Mike Zusman for East as he picked up a loose puck in the slot and his goal made it 4-2. Fesnak made several point blank saves, especially with Cinnaminson having a two-man advantage.
East cut the lead to 4-3 as Mike Danyo scored a power play goal on a great pass from behind the net from Kevin Desrochers. After stoning Steve Parent on a breakaway midway through the period, Cinnaminson got an insurance goal when Brian Crosby put home a rebound off an Anthony Mottola shot who had broken in alone. Despite the loss, East may have found another goalie to count on for next season.
