By Rellcam The Edgewood Eagles defense, led by Roger Brown and Chris Catania, struck early and often. On Cherry Hill West's second possession, Eagles' cornerback Roger Brown picked up a fumble and raced 30 yards for the score, giving the Eagles a 14-0 lead early in the first quarter. On the Lions' following offensive series, Eagles' linebacker Chris Catania scooped up another Cherry Hill West fumble and used a nifty cutback move and outran his pursuers, giving Edgewood (4-2) a 21-0 lead. In the first quarter, Eagles' senior tailback Jason Sapp scored on a 10 yard run, giving the Eagles' a 7-0 lead. Early in the second quarter, running back Brandon Osborne scored a 47 yard run, and Kyle Murray was the recipient of a 12 yard pass from QB Nick Rosetti, ending the first half 34-0. Roger Brown capped his performance with two interceptions in the second half. All purpose back Dennis Davis had two receptions for 55 yards and added the Eagles' final score on a 3 yard run. Cherry Hill West's only score came when their quarterback Mike Guinta scored on a 2 yard run. Final score 40-6 Edgewood. Note: The Edgewood Eagles' defense is among the South Jersey leaders with 11 interceptions thus far this year.
