High School Football:
By Bob Grimmie Cherry Hill West opened its season by beating Olympic Conference National Division rival Bishop Eustace 20-13. West jumped out to an early 14-0 lead at halftime thanks to a six-yard touch down run by Ray Harris and a Kenny Pitter 46-yard touchdown reception from Jammie Russen. Eustace brought the game within reach in the third quarter when Dan Hogan caught a nine-yard touchdown from Bob Spross. In the end it was West's senior running back Tyrone Tucker who broke the game open with a 75-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. On the day, he rushed for 164 yards on 14 carries. Eustace would score late in the fourth quarter on a Spross 16-yard pass to Nick Colangelo.
