With just forty-four seconds remaining and just one second left on the man advantage, Anthony Ciccotelli scored a power play goal for Cherry Hill East as they rallied to tie Paul VI 2-2 in a SJHSIHL game played in Voorhees. With the tie Paul VI moved into a tie for second place with Clearview and trails first place Moorestown by five points. After Tim Woods scored the only goal of the first period to give East a 1-0 lead, Paul VI responded with two power play goals in the second period. Brett Balco set-up both goals, first finding Dustin Isbert early in the period to tie the game at 1-1. Then with East down a man midway through the period, Balco found Jared Brasten and his goal put Paul VI up 2-1.
The game stayed that way until the closing seconds, and both goalies made key saves, Eric Lake for Paul VI and Zach Fesnak for East to preserve the tie. Notes: With the playoffs down the road and for a first time in a number of years the league has no clear-cut favorite, or though Moorestown is emerging, good goaltending and contributions from more than one line will be key, and if Paul VI can have at least two lines contributing they can make some noise in the big dance.
