It's always special to win a game for your team and it's even nicer to celebrate a milestone during that victory. Cherry Hill East's Brian Young not only helped the Cougars pick up the twelve point victory, he also was honored with scoring his 1,000th point of his career during the game. With some of the East faithful showing up at the game, Young was honored briefly during their game against Oakcrest. After that, Cherry Hill East established a lead that was never jeopardized and picked up the 64-52 win.
Another game from the Olympic-Cape Atlantic Challenge, Cherry Hill East jumped out to a 10 point advantage in the first quarter that expanded to a 38-17 lead at the half. But just like all good teams, a comeback finds a way to enter the game. Leading by a 55-31 margin after three quarters, the Cougars watched their opponent rally behind team work and Christian Taylor’s ability to score. The Falcons would outscored East 21-10 during the final quarter, but the Cougars would come away with another win for the Olympic Conference. Brian Young finished with a game high 29 points for the Cougars while, Rahsaan Hall added 14 points and Rahim Shiver dropped in 12. Oakcrest was led by Christian Taylor’s 27 points and Tony Day added 10 points for the Falcons.
