High School Ice Hockey: Cherry Hill East in Command Against the Chiefs Monday, December 9, 2002 By Mike Costantino SJSports Staff Writer mcostantino@sjsports.com Scott Frank had a hat trick to pace a balanced attack as Cherry Hill East skated by Cherokee 9-3 in Tier 2 action in Voorhees. East broke open a close game midway through the second period after Cherokee had gotten to within 4-3. The Chiefs had a chance to tie when Jake Davis broke in against East freshman goalie Steve Saunders, but Saunders made the save. On their next rush up ice, Frank converted a pass from Louis Stomel and Jay Fitcher to put Cherry Hill up 5-3 and end any chance of a comeback for the Chiefs. Fichter blasted a shot off the crossbar with thirty seconds left in the period to make it 6-3. East also had goals from Andrew Rovinsky, Kevin Desrochers, Kevin Smith and Stomel.
