Chris Hartung had a hat trick, Mike Danyo and Chris Zizzamia added two goals each as Cherry Hill East dominated Lenape 14-1 in a game played at Hollydell on Friday night. Lenape was still looking for its first win of the season and despite the lopsided score, the players were still working hard even late into the third period. East scored five goals each in the first and second periods while out-shooting Lenape thirty-five to ten through the first two periods. Zizzamia opened the scoring in the first two minutes of the game and East never looked back.
Lenape will move into Tier 2 next year and has some talent and good goaltending and should be competitive, the thing that you hope is that most kids aren't discouraged by this year's efforts and will come back and compete next year. Back to the game, with Lenape a man short, Kevin Desrochers made it 2-0 converting a rebound of a shot by Andrew Rovinsky. Other goal scorers for East were Nick Giambanis, Rovinsky and Matt Seddacca. Sullivan scored the lone goal for Lenape.
