High School Ice Hockey: Seven Goal Second Period dooms Black Horse Friday, November 3, 2006 By Mike Costantino SJSports Staff Writer Will Leonetti scored four goals and Cherokee II erupted for seven goals in the second period as Cherokee II defeated Black Horse 11-6 in Tier 2 action. Patrick Casey and Frank Garvey added two goals each. Matt Buonadonna led Black Horse with two goals. With the score tied at 2-2 after one period Cherokee scored five goals in a span of ten minutes to break the game open. Two goals by Black Horse, one by Jim Pivito and the other by Joey Trapani in a span of one minute gave Black Horse some life but Cherokee responded scoring two goals of their own in sixty six seconds, one by Adam Hidalgo and one by Drew Williams to put the game out of reach. With the victory Cherokee moved into a first place tie with Holy Cross. Photos by Art Redd
